Whiten Your Teeth and Reduce Gum Inflammation With Homemade Coconut Paste

Our desire for healthy, white teeth seems to be universal. It’s no wonder since pearly white and healthy-looking teeth tell a lot about the person’s health, their hygiene habits and even their social status. Although there are many products to choose from when it comes to teeth whitening, most of them use harsh chemicals to bleach the teeth, which not only can damage your tooth enamel, but make your teeth super-sensitive and more prone to corrosion.

To safely whiten your teeth and reduce gum inflammation, it’s best to stick to natural solutions.

Coconut Oil for Teeth

Coconut oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, which makes it a great cleansing and whitening agent. It doesn’t contain any foaming or harsh chemicals, so it’s perfectly safe and effective for teeth whitening.

Additionally, coconut oil has many other oral health benefits:

  • Reduces gum inflammation,
  • Prevents cavities,
  • Soothes sore throat/throat dryness,
  • Strengthens and heals gums,
  • Reduces teeth discoloration,
  • Eliminates bad breath.

Furthermore, coconut oil has a pleasant taste, is inexpensive and can easily be made into a toothpaste.

Coconut Oil Toothpaste

For this natural and effective homemade toothpaste, you will need:

  • ½ cup of coconut oil (cold-pressed)
  • 2-3 tbsps of baking soda
  • 5 drops of essential oil (optional)
  • Tiny bit of stevia (optional).

Put coconut oil and baking soda in a small, glass jar. Start mixing the two ingredients together, blending them into a smooth-consistency paste. Then, add a bit of essential oil of your choice if you like and stevia for the taste. Mix well.

Using this paste is super easy – just dip your toothbrush in a paste and brush your teeth like you normally do. Use the coconut toothpaste every day, once a day (use your regular toothpaste the other two times), and watch your teeth transform!
