Turmeric for Psoriasis

Thanks to its healing properties, turmeric has been used in the treatment of various skin problems, including acne, congested skin, wounds, burns, but also eczema and psoriasis.

The reason why turmeric can be used for the treatment of psoriasis is because it’s anti-inflammatory, with the ability to inhibit the inflammatory enzymes that are associated with this condition.

The best way to use turmeric is both orally and topically.

Orally: to consume turmeric regularly and in sufficient amounts (between 1.5 and 3 grams), you can add some in your smoothies, juices and meals, or take turmeric supplements.

Topically: tor topical applications, simply mix turmeric with water. You should get a pasty turmeric mixture. Apply the remedy onto your psoriasis lesions, cover with gauze and leave it on overnight. In the morning, rinse with warm water.

Tip: to remove turmeric stains from your skin, you can first cleanse your skin with oil (cleansing oil or simple coconut oil will work) and then with a gentle gel or foam cleanser and water.
