Science Confirms Honey is The Best Natural Antibiotic

What health enthusiasts and alternative-health practitioners have known for a very long time has now become scientifically proven– honey is the best natural antibiotic that can be used to combat antibiotic resistance.

Honey has antibacterial, antimicrobial and antiviral properties which makes it one of the best natural antibiotics. In fact, when applied topically honey has the ability to destroy many superbugs, including MRSA.

Another researcher, Peter Molan, a biochemist who has spent more than 25 years studying natural antibiotics such as honey, explains that manuka honey has the most potent antibacterial properties. Manuka honey comes from manuka plant in New Zealand, and it’s one of the purest honeys in the world, especially high in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

According to Molan, manuka honey can destroy even the most antibiotic-resistant bacteria and provide better effects in wound treatment than pharmaceutical products.
