As we age, so does our skin – but with the passage of time also come age spots, warts, big pores and blackheads, none of which are attractive or healthy. The good news is that there are various natural treatments that you can make in your own kitchen that can help.
Caused by HPV, warts are very common but can be annoying and unsightly. You can remove warts by using apple cider vinegar (ACV): simply soak a cotton ball with ACV and dab the wart with it or leave it on for a few hours. You can also try using garlic juice: soak a cotton ball with the juice and leave it on the affected area overnight. Repeat as many times as necessary.
2. Skin Tags
Usually located around the neck, upper chest and underarms, skin tags are usually caused by friction. Luckily, it’s easy to remove them with ACV and tea tree oil (TTO). Simply soak a cotton ball with water and add a few drops of TTO. Then, dab the affected skin, cover with a bandage and leave it on for a few hours. Repeat until skin tags fall off.
3. Age Spots
Caused by hormonal changes and excessive sun exposure, age spots are fairly easy to remove. You can use lemon juice: simply rub the age spots with the straight lemon juice, or if you have sensitive skin, lemon juice diluted with water. This should be done every day, until you notice your age spots fading.
Blackheads and clogged pores and extremely common but can sometimes be stubborn to remove. You can try exfoliating your skin with a simple homemade paste: sugar and lemon. Mix a bit of a lemon juice with water and then add sugar; mix until you get a runny paste. Use the mixture as an exfoliating treatment 2-3 times per week and always follow with a cold water rinse.
