It may seem like our modern, busy lives come in a package with fatigue. We hear about it so much from our friends, family, colleagues and finally ourselves, that it’s become normal to feel sleepy, tired and overworked most days during the week. But living like this is not normal nor is it healthy – learn how you can stay productive and on top of your work schedule without feeling like the whole world is collapsing on your shoulders.
1. Milk, Amaranth, Honey
This delicious, nourishing meal will perk you up, boost your immune system and help fight fatigue.
Start by cooking the amaranth: boil the water, add the amaranth and then let it simmer for 20 minutes. Once done, strain. In a bowl, pour about 300 ml of warm organic milk, add one or two tablespoons of raw honey, and finally, lots of your cooked amaranth. Mix well.
Tip: you can also add a handful of walnuts or hazelnuts into the mix!
Ginseng is a powerful plant with many health benefits. Consuming the roots of this plant is said to restore and enhance well-being and boost the immune system. The best and easiest way to consume ginseng is to make ginseng tea.
Pour one cup of water in a tea kettle, add 1 teaspoon of dried and ground ginseng and put on a stove. Once the water boils, remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Finally, strain and drink your hot cup of ginseng tea.
Tip: if you like your tea on the sweet side, add 1 teaspoon of raw honey.
3. Energy-Restoring Green Juice
To boost your energy levels and improve your overall health, make this green juice every day and drink it in the morning.
- 1 handful of spinach
- 2 large celery sticks
- 1 green apple
- ½ lemon
- 1 tablespoon of ginger
- Purified water
In a blender, pour a little bit of purified water and then add the spinach, chopped celery sticks and chopped apple. Then add the juice of ½ lemon and a tablespoon of peeled, cut and grated ginger root. Blend well and drink up!
